Spicy Sambal Sauce

Sambal is an Indonesian slang word for the Javanese word “sambel.” It is native to the cuisines of Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Singapore. This chili sauce goes great on fish, veggies, tofu or tempeh.

We make our version without the traditionally used fish sauce and instead use fermented red jalapeño, lemongrass, ginger, garlic, sweet onion and rice vinegar. It's a spicy vegan dream.
