Why raw and fermented? Simply put, we want our Noni Juice to be pure and packed with as many medicinal benefits as possible. It’s important that we provide our customers both on and off-island with the same quality product, that’s free of additives and preservatives.
In our fermentation process, live bacteria break down food components like sugar, which makes it easier for you to digest and absorb all the nutrients that Noni has to offer. This also makes it rich in probiotic bacteria that increase the health of your gut and digestive system while simultaneously enhancing your immune system.
Because Noni plants grow in tropical regions, it’s almost impossible to find raw or fresh Noni on the mainland. We have yet to find another company besides ours that sells Noni juice unpasteurized. Fermentation affords us the opportunity to ship our raw Noni Juice nationwide to our customers without compromising the integrity of it.
What is it?
This oddly translucent alien-looking plant, also known as Morinda Citrifolia or Indian Mulberry, is a tropical evergreen plant Polynesians have used for over 2,000 years in traditional medicine. From the leaf to the root, they have utilized this superfood to treat a variety of ailments such as diabetes, high blood pressure, aches, fevers, burns, arthritis, inflammation, the effects of aging, viral, and bacterial infections — the list is endless!
Many of the medicinal benefits of Noni are largely credited to the fact that the Noni plant is a source of phytonutrients and antioxidants.
Phytonutrients are nature’s natural defense, they have anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and antibacterial compounds that are known to boost the immune system as well as repair cellular damage.
Antioxidants are important for protecting against cell damage and fighting off free radicals in your body.
Why do you need it?
We will say this until our last breath, health starts from within, whether you’re wanting to reduce stress throughout the day, improve the appearance of your skin, or help better your immune system. By drinking a shot of Noni daily or even a few times per week, you can help strengthen your immune system at a cellular level and get your body the vitamins it needs in an extremely convenient, and natural way.
Raw and fermented Noni Juice is filled with Vitamins C, A, and B3 - these essential antioxidants protect against cell damage and fight off free radicals in your body, which could cause diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.
A daily dose can help to strengthen your body’s natural defenses while improving your overall health. It can help manage high blood pressure, as well as reduce the risk of chronic diseases. By consuming daily you also lower the risk of gout, which is an extreme and common type of arthritis.
Vitamin B3, or niacin, is another great antioxidant you’ll get from our raw and fermented Noni. In fact, every part of your body needs B3 to function properly. It lowers your cholesterol, eases arthritis, boosts your brain function, and improves skin. One of the reasons we are die-hard Noni lovers is because of the way it makes you feel. Noni can help boost serotonin levels in the brain which helps to improve focus, concentration, and regulate anxiety.
With the winter and flu seasons coming about, it’s important that we safeguard our bodies and our minds. We know how hard it can be to find raw and fermented Noni Juice, that’s exactly why Kaua’i Juice Co can now ship straight to your door. Once received, we recommend drinking 1 ounce of our raw and fermented Noni Juice first thing in the morning, without diluting it in water or juice. To help ease the taste follow up with a spoon full of raw honey or water.
A product with a positive community impact!
However, our most favorite thing about our raw and fermented Noni Juice is that it helps support our community. The Noni fruit we use is grown locally on Kauai and naturally fermented by our friend, Braddah John. John has about sixty trees, everything is organically grown with no pesticides. He hand-picks all the Noni and gives each batch a blessing. “Mahalo Ke Akua for the Noni and Aloha Aina" (Thank God for the blessing of Noni and love to the land). His fermentation recipe comes from his kupuna (elderly relatives) and will continue to be used by his and many other Ohanas (family).
We asked John, why Noni? He replied, "The ancient Polynesians bought it to Hawaii for its healthy, medicinal qualities and it is an important part of our culture. That’s proof that it’s something very special," says John. When he began his Noni making journey, he said, “I started seeing small miracles from loved ones who used it. I use it every day for energy, immune health, and prevention. I believe in it, that’s why I keep making it.”
All of the proceeds from John’s Noni sales are used to support local schools and support programs for youth around the island. John is passionate about helping less fortunate youth in our community; he has been doing lots of significant work in this area for over 15 years. Through his programs, He helps the youth to learn from their mistakes, let go of negativity and turn their life around in a healthy way while teaching them the importance of living Aloha and being Pono of the—mind, body, and spirit. "Like the Noni plant, I'm planting positive seeds within these youth, and one day it will flower and turn into something healthy and special”, says John.
